Can you call them "work friends" if they do not work with you anymore? I think now they are just friends. Last year the 5 of us used to eat lunch together everyday. This summer Lisa and Jill both took jobs at other schools. Since Bonnie, Tricia, and I have different lunches we make a point to meet up with each other to catch up. Today we met up at PJs for happy hour. It was nice to just relax with my non work regular life friends.
Aces is a grant that my school participates in. Every year 2 teachers, 1 from the middle school and 1 from the elementary, have meetings with the state to talk about the new national math standards. We are learning to interpret them and the best ways to teach them to the students. It is alot of work but I made some friends with the other teachers so we had fun too. This year I was asked to represent our school again. The good news is I will get to learn more. The bad news is that I got a new team so the friends I made will not be there. Today was our first meeting. Notice how there is no candy or donuts on the table. No magazines, computers, or games either :-( This year is going to be very different. I miss the Pine Hill girls...

I don't like the gym. I am more of a run for fun kind of girl. And only when the weather is nice. After being totally out of shape at soccer yesterday though, I decided to give Danielle's class a try. I went to her class once before and it was not bad. Boy was I wrong this time! Who would have thought that a mat and two weights could be so tiring. Once I was finished I was glad I did it. Maybe if I keep this up I will be in shape by the end of the season :-)
