Tough love

I should not be allowed to watch Tough Love... especially before bed. Nothing good can come from a womanizing matchmaker and a bunch of women that remind me of me.

Check it out

99 and counting

Today was Kate's second annual Memorial day barbeque. It was 99 degrees out so me and Kate were the only 2 outside. The boys are wimps. What fun is an indoor barbeque?

Ocean Citys newest tourist attraction

Last week one of the big beautiful houses in Ocean City burned down. The house was gorgeous and was right in the middle of the road at the entrance to the beach. Because of the popular location everyone knew this house. Every time you passed it this week there were always  crowds of people staring at it. No one knows what happened or how it burned but everyone seems interested.

So much drama

There is so much drama going on that I don't even know where to begin. One picture will never summarize it. So here is a happy place picture of where I would rather be instead. Think happy thoughts :-)

Summer is almost here

Today I got my first water ice of the season, bought a new bathing suit, and got my pool passes. Yay summer!

Coffee house

My friend at work had a coffee house in her classroom for her students today. They each had to bring in a poem to perform. In order to get them in the mood she played the scene from She's All That where Freddie Prince hacky sacks on stage. They each brought in food and drinks and had snacks as the others performed. It was cute because she taught them to snap instead of clapping when they liked part of a poem. She also played soothing music in the background.Good for her for being creative.

Field trip

Today we took some of the kids to the state police museum. It was a reward for the students that were well behaved all year. The weather was amazing and we got to see alot of interesting things including cop cars, helicopters, and K9s. We also toured the fusion center which is where the emergency personnel sit together in a crisis and plan. Everything about the trip was wonderful and could have been the photo of the day. Instead I picked the best most unusual part of the day. Here is a picture of 30 7th graders sitting quietly on a bus without being told to do so. When the field trip is a reward for the well behaved students even the teachers win.

Mothers day

Sometimes you have to do things you hate for the ones you love. Today I peeled, chopped, touched and smelled a banana for my mom. Now that's love.

Readings

This is how much I need to read (and understand) by this weekend. Halfway there!

First day of school

Based on her emails I could tell my new professor was going to be rough. Its a short class so alot of material is squeezed into a short time. I had no idea she was going to go kindergarten on us. I think this is the first college class ever with assigned seats.

This is a classy place

I needed to buy flowers and then leave them in my hot car for a while. Check out the classy vase I made out of a bag, a bottle of water and my lunch box. Worked like a charm.

Pinatas and other childhood favorites

When Vince said he was going to hold the pinata I thought he was nuts. But that was before I realized that pinatas these days are for sissy kids. There is no bat! Each kid pulls a string and the bottom opens. Thats no fun!

Dirty Jersey

I came to a realization yesterday. Its a thought I have had before but I was reminded of it again. The rude reputation that people from New Jersey have in the eyes of the rest of the country may be true. I used to think others judged NJ without actually knowing it. Then I went to Indianapolis and Ohio and saw how friendly strangers were in other parts of the country. Yesterday I went to dinner with Danielle and her friends. Some friends were so nice. I had never met them and they treated me like we were bffs. They were the out of towners. Then another person came that I didn't know. He was funny and friendly and including everyone in conversations. Later in the evening i found out that hes from Tennessee. If im from here and I can see the difference. Imagine what other people think when Jersey comes to them.

Too tired to eat

I have been so busy lately. Today I was so tired that I debated skipping dinner to go to bed early. It stinks when you cant decide if you are more tired or hungry.
