Oh what a day

To start my day I saw a multi car accident. Turns out it was my friend. I pulled over. She was ok though.
At work I found out another coworker was absent because her son was jumped at a bar and was in cooper with brain injuries.
There was then a huge blowup at work with tons of the girls bullying one another. I had to run an intervention/ therapy type meeting. I realized I would never want to be a psychologist.
We then had a "relocation drill". Who has even heard of that? I just want to teach my class.

"Friends" applies to everything

My life is like one giant episode of Friends. My actual friends know I quote and reference it all the time. Today this happened to me and Jane. Seriously! I can't make this stuff up!

Juice frustrations

Every morning I bring a juice box to work for breakfast. Yesterday I ran out but my mom had given me a can of juice so I was going to have that instead. I took a few sips and it was gross. It was too strong. When I read the label it turned out that it was concentrate and needed to be combined with water. So I made a pitcher of it. This morning I thought I was being smart and I poured some into this special no condensation cup my mom gave me. Turns out it is a few millimeters too big for the cup holder in my car. I thought cups were a standard size just for this reason. Now I have a whole pitcher of juice that I cant get to work. At this point im not about to give up. I build a little nest with my school bags and my lunch bag and I proped my cup up. I made it all the way to work without it spilling. I would have been so mad if after all that my car was sticky and I had no juice. Luckily that didn't happen and next time I will be more prepared.

Pay it forward

Danielle has given me so many shoes and math supplies lately. Then she gave my mom a few pairs of pants. Today to pay it forward I picked up lunch for her and did her nails. I also brought her a cookie for her generosity. I think she enjoyed it.

Organization pays

Danielle cleaned her closet and found some shoes she didn't want that would fit me. She delivered the shoes and a donut to my room first thing this morning. When Danielle cleans, everybody wins.

I took a picture of the shoes with the donut but I guess I didnt save it cause I cant find it now. :-( So heres a pic of just the shoes... but know they came with a donut.

I <3 ducks

I love ducks. Always have. I think they are so cute. Today these three were waddling down the sidewalk, nowhere near the water. Then two started fighting in the street! I thought they were going to be hit by a car. The other just watched for a few minutes before they all flew away. The white one just wouldn't play nice. But they are all safely near the water now so its ok.

Laundry mat

Laundry mats are not for me. It wasn't exciting and cool like on tv. In fact, I would hate if I had to go there regularly. It was empty. It was old. It felt dirty. How can I clean my things in a place that grosses me out more than the dirt on the comforter I started with? Then we brought the comforter home, aired at out, and it had a mark on it that wasn't there before (It was small. The picture is the water mark from where I tried to clean it). Must have come from the laundry mat. The good news is that I have my own washer so I shouldn't need to go back there for another two years or so.

Unprepared

This is what I brought to class today. I forgot my notebook and my textbook at home. I had a feeling this morning that I was missing something but I brushed it off because I was purposely leaving my change of clothes at home. In the end it was fine though because we didn't take notes or use the text in class tonight. I love it when things work out.

Seventy degrees

For the past three days it has been 70+ degrees. I have spent the majority of my free time outside walking or reading. I've been so happy outside that I forgot to check my email or post on my blog. When the weather is nice I don't even think about electronics apparently.

Teachers pet

Teachers aren't supposed to have favorites. But they all do. And its really exciting when one of them comes back to visit. Its refreshing and reassuring to see them doing big things. One of mine came back today and hes doing great :-) Since I cant post a picture of me with my favorite students, here is a picture of me with my favorite teacher instead. I wonder if hes proud of me like I am of my students.

9 out of 10

We had 10 conferences in three hours tonight. Nine went well. So how come I can't seem to stop dwelling on the other one.  Arg

My dogs are barking

In high school I knew this girl who was totally crazy about running. She would eat one cookie then need to run it off. A few years ago I met another friend like this. (You know the type that are motivated by stickers ;-) wink) Well today I decided that most personal trainers must also be in that slightly crazy category. You would have to be to push yourself that hard. When my body starts to hurt it tells me to stop what im doing. These people's bodies tell them to do that more and see if it gets you in better shape. I have never been one of those people and I don't think I ever will be. But I somehow keep surrounding myself with them. Now my feet hurt.

Birthday part 2 of 3

When I was little I loved my birthday so much that I used to celebrate for weeks. Well the weeks are now days but not much else has changed. Yesterday I had breakfast with my mom, today I got to go to dinner with my dad. Tomorrow its a whole family dinner at home. I love my birthday!

Day 'o fun

My mom took me out for a day of fun today. I picked her up and we went to breakfast at the Pop Shop. We got pancakes that were bigger than the plates. Then she let me pick a present and she bought it. I got a pair of soccer shorts and a hat. Then we ( I ) took a nap. It was a good day.

I've got mail

When I left work today I checked my phone for something fun to do. I had two missed calls, three texts, and an email. That was exciting until I realized all six messages were from my family. Oh well. At least I had a magazine in my real mailbox when I got home.

Loser

At tcnj there is a building called Loser hall. Thats pronounced l-O-ser. I bet the man it was named after got made fun of all the time though. Of course it is the first building when you drive in because it's the welcome center. It is also sooo nice inside. My class was moved here tonight.It is one of my favorites even though it has a silly name.

Happy leap day

Take a leap today. Just not from the top of a three story building like these geese did this morning. I've never even seen geese fly... but apparently they do.
