You know what makes me happy? Being active and outside. I started my day at the March of Dimes charity walk with my friends. It was perfect weather and very laid back, which I liked. Then I went to soccer. We had no subs and we were playing a good team. We only lost by one. We did really well. Im not nearly as good as the people on my team, but I have fun and I'm making friends so thats what matters. Now I'm exhausted from my day but happy about it.

Scrapbooking
It rained allll day today. Soccer was cancelled and I had nothing to do. So my mom came over and we spent the day inside crafting. Here is a page from the scrapbook we started.

Happy birthday mama!
It is my moms birthday. Unfortunately my dad had to go to a funeral and my brother is out of town. So I was on birthday duty alone. I decided to do something totally different and out of the ordinary for us. I baked! I made a cake and cleaned. Watch out Martha Stewart, here I come.

You learn something new everyday
My teammates are very language based while I'm more of a math girl. Everyday when they're helping the kids with their math problems they do their best to reason their way through it. We joke because they often don't know the answers but why should they since they teach language arts. For the first time today the tables were turned. While reading a book, a student ask me what a kumquat looked like. I said, "Is that like a sasquatch? They look like big foot." Turns out a kumquat is a fruit. You learn something new everyday.

Wing night
It takes a special type of person to be able to hold a table for six alone in a crowded restaurant.

Hot hot hot
All day I could not wait to get out of work because the weather was supposed to be so nice. By the time I got home it was in the upper eighty's. I put on my shorts and sat on the porch but in about a half hour I was so hot and sweaty I could not take it. I had to bite the bullet and come inside. It was sad. Since I was inside anyway I decided to get my work done. By dinner time it was finally cool enough to go sit on my porch. My homework was done so I grabbed some chinese food, a new magazine and used my new patio furniture. It was amazing!

Breakthrough
We made a breakthrough in the family tree research today. I met a stranger on facebook who has been very helpful in the search. He really pulled through today. We now know the date of my grandpop's first marriage and the name of his wife! Next stop... finding out if she ever remarried or had any kids.

College
How can you not love a place that looks like this? Best college in the world... or in the state at least. I had to drive up for a meeting and I was a little early so I walked around campus, wearing my tcnj sweatshirt and pretending I was an undergrad.

Happy Easter
Some days I struggle to find a photo. Today I had many. I will break the rules and give you them all.
The first is a plant that my friends boyfriend gave me.
The second is a piece of Easter Pitza. Most of you have probably never heard of it and it's hard to describe. Its a pie-ish food made with meat and cheese. My grandmoms used to make it. My mom took it on this year and it was delicious.
The last pic is my mom with my brother's friends. They came over to hang out.

All the single ladies
Nothing makes you feel like the oldest single girl on the planet quite like a bridal shower filled with ex sorority princesses and their bling.

Gardening
Kate called and asked if i would help her rip up the weeds from her backyard so she can make a garden. I volunteered to help. After a few minutes we realized it was a bigger project than anticipated. There was a layer of rocks under everything! After a few hours and many trash bags, we stepped back to look at our progress. It was disappointing. We felt like we did so much but it looks like we got nowhere. You are just going to have to believe me. It was worse before.

Thoughts
I have decided that on days when I do not have a picture to share I will share a thought instead. That way I will not have to skip as many posts. Today's thought started with last night's dream. In this dream I was at my grandparents' town with my grandmothers. I was the age I am now but they insisted on taking me and my brother to a children's show. When we got there it was an outdoor play. I was not watching because I was searching the crowd. There were tons of people and my students kept popping up. I was yelling at them to get out of my grandmother's town but they would not listen. I'm not sure if they could hear me because I made my brother run away from them with me. Meanwhile my grandmothers kept looking at us and smiling. When we got to the outside of the crowd I started getting attacked by a small fluffy dog. I was screaming and yelling and everyone around me kept saying how friendly the dog was. They were not seeing that he was biting at my legs. How come everyone assumes you're crazy when you tell them you don't enjoy dogs? Apparently it happens in life and in dreams.

April Fools
Do you know what the best part of this years April fools day was? It was on a Sunday! That means I did not have to pretend to enjoy practical jokes all day.
Atlantic City
Anyone who knows me probably would not guess that I like AC. Its known for drinking, gambling, and stupid people... all things I dislike. But every time I go there I have fun. The first time I went to Atlantic City at night I was too young to get into the casinos so my friend and I walked around the boardwalk. We watched guys pick up women and then had a drunk guy ask for our shoes. We spilled nail polish all over the floor of some store and then left. Random crazy things always happen there and thats what makes it fun. In the ten years to follow since my first trip there I've run out of a casino because of a fire, witnessed my friends pretend to be celebrities, seen a psychic, and been involved in a jitney turf war. To name a few. The fun never stops in AC. How can I not love it!?
